A $300,000 grant paid over three years to the UAB School of Nursing to help bring the Nurse Family Partnership to Jefferson County. Nurse-Family Partnership® (NFP) is a national, evidence-based, nurse home visiting program that improves the health, well-being, and self-sufficiency of low-income 1st time parents and their children for the first two years of the child’s life. By connecting these parents with a trusted public health nurse, NFP empowers long-lasting change. NFP is the most rigorously tested program of its kind. Almost four decades of research on NFP have shown significant benefits to the families it serves and significant cost savings to society and government funders. More information.
